Noiserr adopts a loose format which can be adapted to different contexts, allowing a wide range of possibilities for developing new modes of building knowledge together through the reading practice.
The starting points of Noiserr in Zurich could be fragments of texts (be it written words, sounds, images, audiovisual texts, performances) about noise, as much as the practice of «Black Mask» or «Up Against the Wall, Motherfucker!». The texts can be provided by Noiserr or can be collected through an open call, gathering together all the inputs given by the participants before or during the reading and research session. This would reflect Noiserr’s will to share knowledge and create culture in a rhizomatic way.
Noiserr’s reading and research session plans to act as a disruptive node within the festival. The session will be a performative attempt at creating a generative space within which the members of the session decide amongst themselves how best to generate new fragments of information which will – following the session – be injected back into the festival. The conversation(s) had during the session will thus continue and be dispersed amongst the other attendees of the festival, and beyond the boundaries of the session itself, existing as noisy dust within the space, creating moments of generative miscommunication throughout the rest of the festival.
The session will revolve around questioning how to break down the boundaries between the different activities of the festival: an instantiation of the sort of structurally-inherent generative understanding of noise discussed by proto-communication theorist Michel Serres, and a mirroring of disruptive activities with Black Mask and UAW/MF. Texts such as Mattin’s ‘Theses on Noise’, and his score for ‘Social Dissonance’ will be used as generative objects from which the questioning can springboard.
From the session – and through whatever process the group decides itself – new fragments of information will be generated (e.g. via group discussion, automated process(es), etc), which then will be distributed (e.g. visually, sonically, randomly, or otherwise) throughout the rest of the festival.
The generative actions of the original reading and research session will thus have – as one output – the affect of creating a performative ‘reader’ for the festival itself. These actions are pertinent to Morea’s own work in that we are aiming to create a non-prescriptive, generative space which is unbound by the sort of power structures inherent to institutionalised practices. The process of fragment-generation is of equal importance to the content of the fragments.

Noiserr nimmt ein loses Format an, das an unterschiedliche Kontexte angepasst werden kann, so dass eine breite Palette von Möglichkeiten für die Entwicklung neuer Formen des Bauens von Wissen zusammen durch die Lesepraxis ermöglicht wird.
Die Ausgangspunkte von Noiserr in Zürich könnten Fragmente von Texten sein (sei es geschriebene Wörter, Töne, Bilder, audiovisuelle Texte, Aufführungen) über Lärm – oder auch über die Praxis von «Black Mask» oder «Up Against the Wall, Motherfucker!» . Die Texte können von Noiserr bereitgestellt werden oder können durch einen offenen Anruf gesammelt werden, wobei alle Eingaben der Teilnehmer_innen vor oder während der Lese- und Forschungssitzung zusammengefasst werden. Dies würde Noiserrs Idee widerspiegeln, Wissen zu teilen und Kultur in einer rhizomatischen Weise zu schaffen.
Noiserrs Lesung und Forschungssitzung plant, als störender Knoten innerhalb der Veranstaltungswoche zu fungieren. Die Session wird ein performativer Versuch sein, einen fruchtbaren Raum zu schaffen, in dem sich die Mitglieder der Session untereinander entscheiden, wie man am besten neue Fragmente von Informationen generieren kann, die – nach der Session – wieder in die Woche aufgenommen werden. Die Konversation(en) während der Sitzung wird also fortgesetzt und unter den anderen Teilnehmer_innen des Festivals über die Grenzen der Sitzung selbst hinaus verstreut, als lärmender Staub im Raum existiert, um Momente der fruchtbaren Misskommunikation während des Restes der Festival zu kreieren.
Die Sitzung wird sich um die Frage drehen, wie man die Grenzen zwischen den verschiedenen Aktivitäten des Festivals zerbricht: eine Umschreibung der Art und Weise des strukturell-inhärenten Verständnisses zu generativen Lärm, die vom Proto-Kommunikationstheoretiker Michel Serres diskutiert wurden, und eine Spiegelung von Ben Mores’s störenden Aktivitäten mit «Black Mask» und «Up Against the Wall, Motherfucker». Texte wie Mattins “Thesen über Lärm” und seine Partitur für “Soziale Dissonanz” werden als generative Objekte verwendet, aus denen die Befragung springen kann.
Aus der Session – und durch den Prozess, den die Gruppe selbst entscheidet – werden neue Fragmente von Informationen erzeugt (z. B. über Gruppendiskussion, automatisierte Prozesse usw.), die dann verteilt werden (zB visuell, klanglich, zufällig oder anders) während des restlichen Festivals.
Die generativen Handlungen der ursprünglichen Lesungs- und Forschungssitzung haben also, als Ausgabe, den Einfluss, eine_n performative_n “Leser_in” für das Festival selbst zu schaffen. Diese Handlungen sind relevant, da wir darauf abzielen, einen nicht-präskriptiven, generativen Raum zu schaffen, der durch die Art von Machtstrukturen, die institutionalisierten Praktiken innewohnen, ungebunden ist. Der Prozess der Fragmentgeneration ist gleichbedeutend mit dem Inhalt der Fragmente.
