After more than 40 years Ben Morea returns to the site of revolution. We know him from his own storys, his vision and from the streets. He’s visiting us in zurich from the 9th till the 16th of october, to talk about the past, to think about the future and to live a radical present. Under the appeal «Up Against!» we invite everybody to become part of a week long program.

We will start the week on Monday the 9th with a big Vokü at UpState and RAF (Raum für Autonomie und Ferlehrnen) both at Flüelastrasse 54. At UpState we open a fragmented A-ggregation with material of the anarchist journal «Black Mask» and the group «Up Against The Wall, Motherfucker!», in which Ben Morea was one of the driving forces. The negotiable representation of material by «Black Mask» and «Up Against The Wall, Motherfucker!» will be extended, commented, updated and rectified with inputs and material of the present.
In addition, we will show the screening of the Documentary “Armed Love”

Up Against! invites activist Ben Morea from New York to Zurich as part of the action week by the same name. On Tuesday evening he will make a stop at the Zurich Autonomous School.
An evening with Ben Morea and the Autonomous School Zurich, on the historical and contemporary context of the Autonomous School, and further to the current and past fights against the migration system. Ben Morea, an anarchist, activist and artist from New York, is visiting, to share the experiences of the struggles in the 1960s (during the anti-war movement, the anti-racist struggles and the black-power movement, among others, in the US), and to discuss the current situation, actions and opportunities. Therefore, also individual inputs and stories from people out of the different actions and projects are requested and very welcome!

From the 9th to 14th October, the week of autonomously organised events on anarchist and artistic processes, UP AGAINST! will take place in Zurich. The idea is to develop a program with planned and spontaneous contributions, events, actions or other experiments, which pursues a question: “What will happen on Saturday, at the end of the week?”. The idea is to renew and activate a networking of actors in this city and beyond.
Time and place will be fixed and announced during the course of the event week!
